Damen takes control at Mangalia
Completed transaction | The Damen Shipyards Group has taken operational control of Romania’s Mangalia shipyard following successful completion of a transaction with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering which has operated the facility since 1997. Previously known as Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries, the shipyard has been renamed Damen Shipyards Mangalia and will be operated by the shipyard group in a joint venture with the Romanian Government. The yard is strategically important for Damen. Located on the Black Sea coast 45km south of Constanta, the facility has three drydocks with widths of 48m and 60m providing capacity for projects involving large vessels and offshore structures....
