First North American-built LNG ferry delivered
Davie Shipbuilding | Canada’s largest shipbuilder, Davie Shipbuilding, says it has delivered the first LNG-powered ferry to be built in North America. The ice-class Armand-Imbeau II , with capacity for 115 cars, eight trucks and 432 passengers, is the first of two sister vessels to be built for ferry operator Société des Traversiers du Québec and is now deployed year-round on the St Lawrence River. The second vessel, Jos-Deschênes II , will be delivered later this year. The two Lloyd’s Register-classed ferries have Wärtsilä 20DF dual-fuel engines, LNGPac fuel storage and treatment systems, and are propelled by thrusters....
