Sustainable tidal energy platform bound for Canada
Following the successful completion of a first round of tests in Connel on the west coast of Scotland, Sustainable Marine Energy is taking the tidal energy platform, PLAT-1 , to Grand Passage in Nova Scotia for the next set of tests. Equipped with four Schottel Hydro SIT 250 turbines, PLAT-1 has undergone tests relating to installation, operation and performance. Now, the Canadian test round will focus on the plant’s performance in Canada’s harsher climate.
