Goltens Dubai launches cruise ship hull
Captain Arctic | The hull of the near-zero-emission cruise ship, Captain Arctic , has been launched at Goltens Dubai. The 69m-long vessel is a collaboration between French owner, Selar, Mauritius-based shipyard Chantier Naval de l’Ocean Indien (CNOI), and the Dubai marine engineering firm. The vessel will operate mostly on renewable energy – using wind propulsion from rigid sails integrated with photovoltaic solar panels – resulting in a carbon dioxide saving of up to 90% compared with conventional ships....
