Energy giant completes installation of monopile foundations
Energy company RWE has completed the installation of all monopile foundations for the wind turbines of the offshore wind farm Nordseecluster A . In total, 44 turbine foundations – each approximately 85m long and weighing around 1,500 tonnes – were installed at sea. Before installation, the foundations were temporarily stored in Eemshaven, the Netherlands, and transported to the construction site by Van Oord’s installation vessels Boreas and Aeolus .
