Operating system turns ships into a network of sensors
Computer vision technology firm, Orca AI, has launched a new feature, called Co-Captain, on its operating system. The 1,000 vessels that are already connected to the Orca AI system will now become data providers, supplying real-time information on factors including prevailing weather conditions, accidents, congestion, incidents of piracy, GPS interference, and so on. The company claims that Co-Captain will “fuse fragment inputs [from participating vessels] into a single layer of collective intelligence”....
