Shipboard monitoring service to reduce risks of breakdown
Shell Marine has launched the Shell Marine Sensor Service (SMSS), designed to provide ships’ crews with greater visibility over equipment operation to reduce the risk of breakdown. According to Allianz Commercial’s Safety and Shipping Review 2025, machinery damage or failure was the primary cause of shipping incidents and casualties in 2024, accounting for 56% of the total.
