Stand D05-22B At Nor-Shipping 2017, igus, the motion plastics specialist, will present a wide variety of new products for the shore-power industry. The systems help supply energy to vessels while at berth to prevent pollution, vibration and noise. The e-chain dispenser is a modular cable management system to supply shore power to ferries or RoRo/RoPax ships. The pivoting arm bridges the distance between the terminal and the vessel so that the connectors can be handled and plugged in easily. The e-chain dispenser is positioned and deployed with an electric drive. The system is capable of compensating movements caused by tide, loading and unloading, wind and waves. Tension and e-chain length control is available as an option.
