Forecasting the future: How weather routing is unlocking shipping’s data revolution

Weather routing software accesses and analyses prevailing and forecast sea conditions as well as an individual ship’s characteristics, cargo and destination, to create an optimum track for an ocean voyage. A tool with the primary goal of reducing exposure to extreme conditions and protecting vessel, crew and cargoes, it also enables owners and operators to avoid delays and loading limitations, and promote optimum fuel efficiency.
