Reintjes
Stand C01-04c The new Reintjes down-angle gearbox series, called WVSA, will be presented at this year’s Nor-Shipping in Oslo. Special attention was paid to the teeth design and contact pattern under load in order to reduce noise. Compared with commercially available down-angle gearboxes, noise values were already found to be significantly lower during initial Reintjes tests. Another benefit of the new gearbox series is the space-saving design of the engine room, made possible by the shaft angle of 8° to 10° between the input and output shaft which enables a horizontal installation of the main engine while the propeller shaft is sloped downwards by the inclination angle inside the gearbox. Thus, a shorter propeller shaft can be used. www.reintjes-gears.com
