Lifecycle asset management system launched
AIM | The classification society Bureau Veritas (BV) has introduced a new generation of asset integrity management (AIM) systems in a move that it claims will reduce the capex and opex exposure of operators in the shipping and offshore industries. Its latest asset management service – Veristar AIM3D – now incorporates a digital twin of physical assets based on Dassault Systèmes’ 3DExperience platform, and smart data in what is described as a collaborative platform. Veristar AIM3D is intended to be used from asset design through construction and then operation, demonstrating and predicting its condition on a constant basis. The system is suitable for individual assets or fleets, and supports risk-based inspection and condition-based maintenance systems. Asset management dashboards for ships, rigs, offshore facilities and entire fleets will address the challenges of reducing both capex and opex, the classification society says, by enabling smarter decisions from improved visibility of actual condition and performance.
