Stand B05-20 The German manufacturer of lifeboat davit systems d-i davit international-hische GmbH will showcase its broadened portfolio of winches, davits and cranes for the maritime industry. The company recently delivered its new generation of powerful winches for installation aboard several large cruise vessel newbuildings. The winches have the capacity to hoist boats weighing up to 50 tonnes. Such lifting capacity is now required by cruise customers because the size of lifeboats has increased so much on the latest generation of new cruise vessels. Some lifeboats can carry up to 400 passengers each. The company has also launched a new electrically driven boat davit. This development, featuring electric drives, offers many advantages compared with hydraulic systems. www.di-hische.de
