Energy-saving compressors for floating LNG vessel
Oslo-based Tamrotor Marine Compressors (TMC) will be supplying what it claims are the most energy-efficient compressed air systems for installation on board Golar LNG’s floating LNG unit, Hilli , which is currently being converted at Keppel Shipyard, Singapore, prior to going on station off the coast of Cameroon later this year. TMC will manufacture and supply seven 365-kW Smart Air compressors which should yield 50% energy savings compared to conventional compressors.
