Model tests for Subsea 7 reel layer completed
Resistance, propulsion and seakeeping model tests for Subsea 7’s reel-lay vessel, which has been designed and will be built by Royal IHC, have been completed successfully at MARIN, the Dutch model testing facility in Wageningen. London-based Subsea 7, an offshore engineering, construction and services company, has expressed satisfaction with the results. The technologically advanced vessel, which will have a range of innovative features including a 250-tonne active heave compensated offshore crane supplied by Huisman, will be deployed on the installation of complex rigid flowlines, including pipe-in-pipe and electrical trace heating systems....
