Cruise ships The requirements for lifeboats are as diverse as specifications for ships. With cruise vessels continuing to increase in size, lifeboat design is becoming more demanding. Germany’s shipbuilder Fassmer is developing a lifeboat concept that offers increased rescue capacity while maintaining the space requirements for arrangements on board. Sophisticated vessels and yachts trading in polar waters require dedicated life-saving appliances, too.
