New project to tackle slow uptake of fuel efficiency technologies

Engineering consultancy BMT and Black & Veach which specialises in building human infrastructure in energy, water, telecommunications and government services, are to cooperate in a GBP 1.8 million Vessel Technology Assessment System (VTAS) project aimed at tackling the limited installation of energy-saving devices in shipping. Commissioned and funded by the Energy Technologies Institute (ETI), the main aim of the project is to help financiers understand and quantify the benefits of investing in fuel efficient technologies for existing and future vessels, thereby accelerating in their adoption....
