ADVANCES IN MAINTENANCE TECHNOLOGY At the end of August, London-based shipping consultancy, Drewry, released new research showing that shipyard repair days have increased both in frequency and duration so far this year, a pattern that has become a steady constant over the last three years. The last big surge was in 2022, when vessels were undergoing EEXI and CII compliance work, including engine power limitation and related technical adjustments.
