Steel cut for ammonia-fuelled boxship

Yara Eyde | Oslo-based Yara Clean Ammonia has staged a steel-cutting ceremony for the world’s first renewable ammonia-powered container ship, Yara Eyde . The company, the world’s largest shipper and trader of ammonia, plans to deploy the ship on the Oslo-Porsgrunn-Bremerhaven-Rotterdam route. The 1,400-TEU ice-class ship is under construction at China’s Qingdao Yangfan Shipbuilding. The vessel will be owned by Delphis, a subsidiary of CMB-Tech and will be operated by a joint venture between Yara Clean Ammonia and North Sea Container Line, NCL Oslo fjord....
