New mooring systems promises greater efficiency
Kongsberg Maritime has released details of developments in offshore mooring technology which promise greater efficiency and reduced environmental impact. The new systems have been designed to minimise mooring components and enable future layouts that avoid active tensioning equipment in permanent systems. The vessel-based connection method compensates for relative motions between the floater and the vessel, the company explained.
