New ROV sets record time for hull cleaning
ECOsubsea’s new Ultra High Efficiency Hull Cleaning Service (UHEHCS), using a powerful new remotely operated vehicle (ROV), is leveraging the latest robotics technology to slash hours off underwater hull cleaning projects in Singapore. The ROV can operate ten times faster than previous cleaning methods, ECOsubsea claims, and does not rely on divers. The unit can operate in two-knots currents while divers are limited to one knot conditions. Even this speed is regarded as hazardous, however.
