MOL to retrofit EGCS
Nexus Victoria | Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) is to install an exhaust gas cleaning system (EGCS) with carbon capture on board the 74,910dwt products tanker, Nexus Victoria . The Long Range 1 (LR1) tanker, built in 2015, will be fitted with a 15-MW EGCS Filtree system from Rotterdam-based Value Maritime, equipped with an additional carbon capture unit to reduce CO2 emissions. Initially, 10% of the tanker’s CO2 emissiosn will be captured but this can be raised to 30%. Installation of the system is expected by the end of this year...
