First contract signed
Fast4WardTM | SBM Offshore has reached an important milestone in its Fast4WardTM programme by signing a first contract for a new-built hull. The program has been designed to standardise the construction and delivery process of FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading) units, thus reducing cost and speeding up the time to the market. The programme can make its clients’ deep-water project returns more attractive in today’s oil price environment, the Monaco-based company said. Oil developments are increasingly in deeper water with harsher conditions, requiring heavier installations on deck, despite space and weight constraints, it added.
