Steel cut for first Quantum Ultra-class cruise ship
Spectrum of the Seas | Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd announced the name of its first Quantum Ultra-class cruise vessel as the ship’s first steel was cut in the laser centre at Meyer Werft’s Papenburg shipyard. The Spectrum of the Seas , which has been designed specifically for Asian passengers, notably Chinese, is due for delivery in spring 2019. The 168,800gt vessel will have capacity for 4,200 passengers and is the fourth vessel in the cruise line’s Quantum-class. Three similar vessels, the Quantum of the Seas , Anthem of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas were delivered in autumn 2014, spring 2015 and spring 2016, respectively.
