Sustainable drop-in fuel cuts 90% of carbon emissions
Rotterdam-based Samskip has extended its agreement with sustainable fuel supplier, GoodFuels, committing to operate the container ships Endeavour , Innovator , Hoffell , and Skatafell on marine grade bio-residual fuels. GoodFuels’ MDF1-100 biofuel is made from sustainable waste streams included on the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive list. It has also been validated with International Sustainability and Carbon Certification. Samskip has estimated that use of the fuel, which is supplied to the four ships in Rotterdam, will enable it to make 45,000 tonnes of additional carbon dioxide savings before the end of the year....
