New crane configuration paves way for 20-MW turbines
Netherlands-based heavy-lift crane specialist, Mammoet, has unveiled a new configuration for its SK6,000 crane type in preparation for the installation of even larger offshore wind components in the rapidly expanding sector. The SK6,000, with its patented fixed jib configuration, is now capable of lifting 3,000 tonnes at a height of 220m. This will enable the efficient installation of even larger offshore wind components, the company said.
