New joint venture to boost offshore wind in Denmark
Leading sustainable energy company, Ørsted, and investment firm, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), are to set up a new 50:50 partnership to develop 5.2 GW of offshore wind energy from four projects in Denmark. The initiative falls under the country’s ‘open-door’ scheme, set up to stimulate offshore wind development. The partners will collaborate on the development, construction, and operation of the wind farms and related power transmission assets. They expect to create ‘a Danish Power-to-X stronghold’ by delivering large-scale renewable electricity as soon as possible, with a potential target date of 2027-28....
