UK companies win funds for two sustainable fuel projects
The UK’s Ecomar Propulsion is to lead a project to develop a 1-MW emissions-free hydrogen hybrid powertrain for large ships to be built in the company’s Hampshire research facility. It will also be involved in a second initiative to design a ship capable of using the propulsion technology in UK and European renewable energy projects, notably offshore wind. Germany’s O.S. Energy GmbH and Exeter University’s Centre for Future Clean Mobility will collaborate with Ecomar in the powertrain development project, which is ultimately funded by the Department for Transport....
