ABS grants AiP for methanol-fuelled yacht
ABS has granted Approval in Principle (AiP) to UK-based Lateral Naval Architects for a new 70m-long superyacht design to be fuelled by methanol. ABS used its Requirements for Methanol and Ethanol Fueled Vessels to assess the new design and award the AiP. Daniele Bottino, ABS manager, Business Development, Yacht Sector Lead, said: “ABS is proud to collaborate with forward-looking companies like Lateral Naval who continuously explore and promote innovative solutions for their clients. This super yacht design promises to capitalise on the experience gained from commercial vessels utilising methanol to meet greenhouse gas emission reduction targets.”...
