Decarbonisation drive held back by lack of collaboration
Research carried out by Houlder Navigator has revealed that the collaboration required to underpin shipping’s urgent decarbonisation drive falls way short of what is needed. While there is a willingness from shipowners to collaborate in principle, it is less evident in practice as owners focus on achieving emissions reductions while safeguarding competitive advantage. The research is based on feedback from a survey of ship owners in the container, tanker, bulk, cruise, and ferry sectors.
