First signs of cautious optimism in Norway

The results of the Norwegian Shipowners‘ Association (NSA) annual survey of members indicate cautious optimism on revenues and profitability in 2018. A modest 3% increase in turnover is anticipated this year, following declines of 19% in 2016 and a further 5% in 2017. In the 2018 survey, 51% of participants were positive over shipping’s prospects, while 23% were still negative. However, these figures contrast sharply with sentiment two years ago when 59% of those surveyed were negative and 23% positive....
