Connectors pass salt-spray test

September 2016 | Editor

MARINE SERIES | Germany’s Hummel AG says it recently tested the corrosion resistance of the Marine-series circular connectors from its French subsidiary, Jaeger, by exposing them to salt spray for 1,000 hours. The result: The extreme stress placed on the components was hardly visible, according to Hummel. The main reason for this, the company says, is ARCAP: a copper-nickel-zinc alloy from which the Marine-series connectors are manufactured. ARCAP is non-magnetic since it doesn’t contain iron.
