Fresh water supply | Engineers from the German heating contractor Schniewindt have developed a method that prevents the electric heater in a ship’s hot water system from coming into contact with fresh water. The method addresses the problem of poor local water quality, mineral build-up and corrosion. As the company explains, the hot water system on an oceangoing ship uses a steam-heated or thermal-oil-heated heat exchanger.
