September 2016 | Editor

Meyer Werft | Carnival Corporation, the world‘s largest leisure travel company, signed an agreement with German shipbuilder Meyer Werft for construction of two LNG-powered cruise ships for Carnival Cruise Line and another for P&O Cruises (UK) at the SMM trade fair. The memorandum of agreement with Meyer Werft and its Finnish subsidiary, Meyer Turku, is subject to several conditions, including satisfactory financing. Carnival Corporation said the two next-generation, fully LNG-powered vessels for Miami-headquartered Carnival Cruise Line would be built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, with deliveries expected in 2020 and 2022.
