A marine design approach to bridge layout development and crew transfer
WFSVS | Marine design is a holistic design process based on the principles of industrial design and with a strong focus on end users as well as stakeholders. Its aim is to improve the aesthetics, human factors, functionality and marketability of a vessel or system. The following article by Dr Sean McCartan, from Coventry University in the UK and coordinator of the EU Leonardo TOI (transfer of innovation) project EBDIG-WFSV (European Boat Design Innovation Group – Wind Farm Support Vessels), describes a marine design approach to WFSV bridge layout and crew transfer.
