Brazil on track to be top-five

May 2012 | Oliver Döhne

OIL PRODUCTION Brazil is fast becoming one of the world’s biggest oil producers. Its proven crude oil and natural gas reserves grew by nearly 70% from 2000 to 2010, and it is expected to be among the top five countries in both reserves and production in the near future. International oil companies are stepping up their involvement. Suppliers from around the globe are also looking increasingly to Brazil, whose offshore industry is now the most dynamic in the world. And the expansion has only just begun, writes Oliver Döhne from Germany Trade & Invest.
