Energy major joins wave power pilot project
Paris-based energy major, TotalEnergies, has joined CorPower Ocean’s Pilot Access Program, which is being developed to assess the potential of wave energy technology at the HiWave-5 pilot project at the Aguçadoura site in northern Portugal. The partners will test CorPower Ocean’s anchored Wave Energy Converter (WEC) that uses a gearbox to convert wave motion into rotation, generating electricity inside the buoy. The project will focus on collecting operational data from the first full-scale C4 WEC device in Stage 4, followed by a CorPack wave cluster demonstration in Stage 5, using three additional C5 WEC systems....
