Ulstein lands cable layer contract from Nexans

Electrification | Norway’s family-owned Ulstein Verft has clinched an order for a large DP3 cable layer from Nexans Marine Operations AS. The ST-297 CLV design from Skips Teknisk is an updated version of the Nexans Aurora , delivered in 2021. The 149.9m-long vessel will have a split turntable on deck for 10,000 tonnes of cable, an under-deck turntable with capacity for 3,500 tonnes, and a fibre optic basket for 250 tonnes. It will have accommodation for a crew of 90 persons. The vessel is designed to transport and lay a range of subsea cables, including cable bundles, as well as for salvage and repair....
