Converted container ship takes on first LNG bunkers

Wes Amelie | The world’s first container ship to be converted to run on LNG has been successfully fuelled with gas and is now operating on feeder routes between the North and Baltic Seas. The 1,000-TEU Wes Amelie , owned by Wessels Reederei, had its engine conversion carried out at German Dry Docks in Bremerhaven in a project supported by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure.
