New LNG bunker barge for Rotterdam

September 2017 | Editor

Shell | A new LNG bunker barge with a capacity of 3,000m3 is currently being built in Romania for LNG Shipping, a consortium of Belgium-based Victrol and CFT Corporation based in France. Upon its delivery, it will be chartered by Shell Western LNG BV, operating out of Rotterdam to provide the company with additional flexibility to bunker LNG-fuelled ships, including vessels operating on Europe’s inland waterways. The cargo handling system, the cargo tanks, and installation of the cargo arrangement on board the vessel will be supplied by the technology group Wärtsilä. The barge will be outfitted in the Netherlands.
