More methanol-powered vessels
Maersk | Danish container shipping company Maersk has placed an order with Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group for the construction of six mid-size container vessels that will be equipped with dual-fuel engines to run on methanol or fuel oil. The 9,000-TEU ships are scheduled for delivery in 2026 and 2027. Rabab Boulos, Chief Infrastructure Officer at Maersk, commented: “With this order, we take another step in the green transformation of our fleet and towards our target of becoming net-zero in 2040. As with all our other vessel orders for the last two years, these ships will be able to run on green methanol.”...
