Cooperation on methanol-powered tugs for Canada

Salish Sea | Kotug Canada, Robert Allan Ltd, and Sanmar are to cooperate on the construction of two dual-fuel methanol tugs to escort tankers from Port Vancouver’s harbour limits to the Pacific Ocean through the commercial shipping lanes of the Salish Sea. The two escort tugs will be built to a RAsalvor 4400-DFM design by Robert Allan and constructed at Sanmar Shipyards in Turkey. They are due for delivery in 2025. Kotug Canada, a partnership between Kotug International BV and Horizon Maritime Services Ltd, has partnered with Sc’ianew First Nation from Beecher Bay, which is located along the shipping route....
