Norway funds research into ammonia as hydrogen carrier
The Norwegian Government has committed to provide about EUR 5.9 million to fund technology group Wärtsilä, Höegh LNG, and a number of other partners in an initiative aimed at developing ammonia as a hydrogen carrier. It is part of Norway’s Green Platform, which embraces a series of projects, and the funding will meet about half of likely costs. Other partners include the Institute for Energy Technology, the University of South-East Norway, Sustainable Energy, and BASF SE.
