UK research venture to focus on CCS pilot

London-based Lomar, its new subsidiary lomarlabs, and climate tech start-up Seabound, are cooperating on plans to test new carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology in a pilot project. The initiative is part of the UK’s Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition Round 3 (CMDC3), funded by the UK Department for Transport. Preparations to install the equipment on a first ship will take place in May and June. The partners will test a patent-pending carbon capture device, developed by Seabound, which can be retrofitted in a ship’s funnel....
