Norwegian offshore operator sets 2050 net-zero goal

Offshore support vessels (OSVs) can provide a suitable arena in which to test new fuel arrangements. They typically operate in waters relatively close to supply bases on shore, and they have widely varying power demands – from high-speed transits to anchor handling, to standing by offshore installations in dynamic positioning mode to supply components, materials, drill water, mud, and other supplies as required. Norway’s Solstad Offshore, with a fleet of 83 vessels, has long been an environmental pioneer in the field, with sustainability initiatives dating back to 2009, when the Solstad Green Operations campaign was launched....
