The decarbonisation of shipping plays a crucial role on the road to a climate-neutral transport economy. Over the next 20 to 30 years, the entire world fleet – currently about 60,000 ships (tonnage of >1,000 tonnes) – will be converted to low-carbon and eventually zero-carbon fuels. “This is an epochal change in the shipping industry.
