New engine series for low-flashpoint fuels MAN Energy Solutions In 2012, MAN Energy Solutions decided to expand its dual-fuel engine portfolio by looking at low-flashpoint fuels and, as a result, the ME-LGI (liquid gas injection) engine series was introduced. The MAN B&W ME-LGI is the dual-fuel engine for low-flashpoint liquid fuels injected in liquid form. So far, 26 engines have been ordered for new methanol carriers and engines in operation have clocked up 88,000 operating hours running successfully on methanol with positive results for shipowners and operators....
