Fast ferries with hybrid propulsion REINTJES | Nine of the twelve fast
Nine of the twelve fast ferries, currently under construction at Spanish shipyard Astilleros Armon for Italian ferry company Liberty Lines, are to have angular gearboxes from Hamelin-based REINTJES. An order is also expected for the remaining three vessels. The special feature of these gearboxes is the acoustically optimised gearing and the switchable PTO/PTI suitable for permanent magnet (PM) electric motors.
