India leads the way in green recycling

In February, the Portuguese Government signed the IMO’s Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships. This is an important step for the entry into force of international standards for ship recycling. With the Carbon Intensity Index (CII) and the Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) in place since January 1st, some experts predict that more ships will be recycled sooner if their CO2 ratings are poor.
