Damen wins two-ship contract
Emergency response | Damen has won a contract from Romania’s General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations for two Stan Patrol 5009 emergency response vessels, a multi-role search-and-rescue ship and a multi-role fire-fighting vessel. The two ships, to be completed at Damen Shipyards Galati, will have an endurance of up to three days at sea, a range of 2,000 nautical miles at cruising speed, and a maximum speed of 22 knots. The search-and-rescue ship will be capable of evacuating about 50 people in an emergency while the fire-fighting vessel, with FiFi-1 notation, will be able to take at least 30 people on board....
