All-electric ferry to be launched
future of the Fjords | Norway’s The Fjords DA has announced that its ground-breaking carbon-fibre Vision of the Fjords , a diesel-electric plug-in hybrid passenger ferry, is to have a sister. However, the 42m-long Future of the Fjords , also fabricated in carbon fibre, will be all-electric and completely emission free. The vessel is currently under construction at specialist Norwegian builder Brødrene Aa on the country’s west coast. Following its delivery, the ship will enable up to 400 passengers to experience the outstanding natural beauty of Norway’s west coast fjords.
